An exquisite 19th-century French gilt bronze jewelry casket by Ferdinand Barbedienne (1810–1892), richly decorated with raised floral and foliate motifs throughout. The hinged lid opens to reveal its original deep burgundy velvet-lined interior, beautifully contrasting against the warm gilt exterior.
Signed “F. BARBEDIENNE” to the underside, identifying the renowned Parisian bronze foundry celebrated for exceptional decorative objects during the 19th century. A petite yet luxurious piece for storing jewelry or displaying as an objet d’art.
