Finely painted early 19th-century miniature portrait, circa 1815–1830, depicting a distinguished nobleman in formal dress wearing seemingly two prominent decorations, believed to include the Imperial Russian Order of Saint Vladimir and the Order of Saint Anna—honors associated with distinguished military or civil service.

Presented in a striking black Empire-style frame with gilt bezel surround and applied metal floral ornaments. A handsome and historically intriguing portrait with wonderful old-world character.
